Summary
I got my PhD in Genetics and Genetic Engineering from Vavilov Institute of General genetics, Russian Acadeny of Sciences, and now I work as Associate Prof. in Microbial biotechnology and biosafety Department in Agricultural Biotechnology Research Institute of Iran. My main research activities are focused on agricultural microbial bioproducts (Biopesticides, Biofertilizers, biofuels and biocompost), genetic engineering and metagenomics, Biosafety aspects of GMOs, and preparation of biosafety laws, guidelines and standards in Iran. I published more than 70 papers in different recognized national and international scientific journals, 7 books in biotechnology, and achieved 7 patents. I have organized different lectures and workshops on different aspects of biotechnology at national and international level, and currently has some responsibilities on biosafety committees, law and regulations preparation and also codex alimentarious standards on GMOs on national level.
Current Research megaprojects
• Designing new probiotic bacteria for poultry industry to enhance high yield and more health as replacement for antibiotics
• Designing new lactic acid bacteria formulations to enhance durability and quality of corn silage broilers
• New technologies for production of microbial biopesticides (Bacillus thuringiesnis) for control of pests
• New technologies for production of biofertilizers and enriched composts from agricultural wastes
• Metagenomics studies on microbial communities involving in agricultural environments (composting, silage, rhizospheres, …)
• New technologies for bifuel production from agricultural wastes
